Getting Rid of The Government's Trash

South Carolina ranks 33 in the nation in competitiveness because of irresponsible spending and high tax rates. The government continues to grow, take, and spend your money, leaving South Carolina families behind. From reckless spending, fraud, waste, and abuse, and high taxes the current way of doing things is garbage. President Trump cleaned up the waste in Washington. Alan Wilson will do the same in South Carolina as Governor. Wilson’s Waste Removal will get rid of the government’s trash and put more money back in your pocket, making South Carolina more affordable for families and profitable for businesses.

Less Waste in Columbia = More Money in Your Pocket

Why We Need a Cleanup

Following President Trump’s lead to cut fraud, waste, and abuse.

In National Tax Competitiveness

South Carolina is one of the worst Republican states and in the southeast. All of our neighbors rank better than South Carolina. Only Alabama, Arkansas, and Louisiana rank worse.

State Spending Explosion

State spending has more than doubled the population growth over the last decade. General fund appropriations increased by more than 103%, while population growth plus inflation has grown by just 56%. Are you getting 2x the amount of services from your government? Are you 2x better off than you were ten years ago?

Fraud, Waste & Abuse

As Governor

Wilson's Waste Management Plan

We need a comprehensive strategy to slash waste and permanently lower taxes.

Veto Earmarks

Alan Wilson will veto any state budget that has earmarks. No exceptions.

The Families First Audit Initiative

Led by his Lieutenant Governor Mike Reichenbach, this initiative will aggressively root out fraud, waste, and abuse.

Eliminate Taxes

Alan Wilson will eliminate the state income tax and overhaul property taxes, including eliminating the vehicle property tax for seniors and veterans.

Overhaul the State Dept. of Commerce

We must restructure Commerce from the top down to save you money.

Property Tax Reform Plan

1

Auto-enroll seniors for homestead exemption (65+)

2

Eliminate vehicle personal property taxes for seniors and veterans

3

Tier and expand the homestead exemption for disabled veterans

Right now, only veterans that have a 100% disability, meaning completely disabled, receive a cut. That’s wrong.

4

Reform Act 388

Remove the provision on higher property taxes for rental properties so that higher rent costs aren’t passed down.

5

Work to lower personal property taxes for commercial businesses

Other states are doing it.
South Carolina needs to catch up.

Alan Wilson’s Record of Fighting Fraud, Waste, and Abuse and fighting for lower costs for the taxpayer

Recovered millions in Medicaid fraud, including multi-million dollar enforcement years

  • Recovered around $20 million from fraudulent Medicaid schemes since he’s been Attorney General
  • Held a state contractor accountable for falsifying records and billed the state → settled with the state $11.3 million
  • Partnered with President Trump’s Department of Justice to expose a $21 million Medicaid Fraud scheme in South Carolina alone, part of a $14.6 billion fraudulent scheme nationwide
    • The fraudsters were pretending to be disabled children and taking their benefits

Holding rogue, woke school districts accountable for misspending funds

  • Demanded investigation into Richland One school district for misuse of taxpayer funds
    • School district officials wasted money on:
      • Floral arrangements
      • Chik-fil-A and other restaurants
      • Dry cleaning and more
  • The investigation prompted the school district to be placed on the Department of Education’s fiscal watch list

Consistently fought against federal regulations that would increase costs on consumers

  • Sued the woke Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for a woke Waters of the United States (WOTUS) that would expand regulation to even creeks, ponds, and small waterways
  • This regulation would have cost taxpayers up to $2.8 million to implement
  • Fought against burdensome regulations on 18-wheelers, gas stoves, refrigerators, and more that would drastically increase prices for infrastructure needs, energy, and business
